Refuse Transfer Stations

The Shire currently operates four refuse transfer stations at Carisbrook ( Potts Lane ), Talbot (Rocky Flat Road ), Dunolly (Maryborough Dunolly Road) and Bealiba (Whitehills Road ).

Carisbrook was converted to a transfer station in May 2007. 

All sites are supervised during the operating times to assist in collection of fees/waste vouchers, collection of recyclables and site management of garbage landfill disposal.  

All waste from the transfer stations is transported to the Stawell Landfill.

Carisbrook

Open Monday, Tuesday and Friday 10.00am - 4.30pm

Saturday and Sunday 10.00am - 4.00pm

Closed Wednesday and Thursday.

Closed Christmas Day, New Years Day, Good Friday and Anzac Day.  

Talbot and Dunolly

Open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday - 12.00 noon - 4.00pm

Closed Christmas Day, New Years Day and Anzac Day.  

Bealiba

Open Thursday, Saturday and Sunday 12:00noon - 4:00pm

Closed Christmas Day, New Years Day and Anzac Day

Fees 2009/10 

• $20.00 - waste per cubic metre
• $7.00 - per car boot or equivalent
• $6.00 - per car tyre
• $25.00 - per tractor or truck tyre
• $20.00 - per mattress
• $20.00 - green waste per cubic metre

All Councils in this State are looking to reduce the amount of waste going into landfills.  Council looks to the support of the community to achieve a reduction in the amount going into landfills and the Council encourages its residents to undertake recycling and composting initiatives.
