Our community aspiring, achieving and living a full life
We believe our work with children, youth and families is about:
Ultimately, the results we seek are for ourselves, because we live, work, play and raise children in the very communities we seek to improve.
We work together to achieve our desired community outcomes with:
For the first phase of our implementation 2012-2014, The Go Goldfield's Alliance and the Go Goldfields Steering Committee have led the work.
The Go Goldfields Alliance is chaired by the Mayor and comprises key community and service agency leaders.
A fully funded Action Plan was developed by the Go Goldfields Alliance. The first ran from 2012-14, the current one covers 2015-17. The Alliance currently oversees delivery of the Plan and determines how to allocate funding received.
The Steering Committee comprising Council leadership together with Regional Directors (or above) from the Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Education and Training (early years, schools and higher education represented), Department of Justice, Regional Development Victoria, the Australian Department of Employment, and Victoria Police.
There are a number of Action Groups chaired by Alliance members that focus on specific areas: Early Years, Family Violence, Youth Engagement and Workforce Development.
Go Goldfields is currently changing the governance of this work to include business and community leaders, and people with lived experience in the issues we are working on. We are currently working to bring these skills together as part of a Collaborative Table.
