Draft for Talbot's future on display
A draft of the Urban Design Framework for Talbot has been completed and is now on display for community comment.
An Urban Design Framework is a broad plan that provides an integrated physical, economic and social vision. The framework takes into account community facilities, business infrastructure, heritage assets, township entrances and the presentation of the township.
The draft, which was developed by Central Goldfields Shire Council and the Talbot Urban Design Framework Advisory Committee, can be viewed at the following locations:
- Talbot Post Office, Camp Street, Talbot
- Quince Farm Café (London House), Scandinavian Crescent, Talbot
- Council offices, 2 Neill Street, Maryborough
- Council's website at http://www.centralgoldfields.com.au/
Shire Mayor Chris Meddows-Taylor encourages community members to view the draft and provide feedback, as it is important that Council hears the people's view.
"Council is committed to the community consultation process in all projects and we are keen to know what people like about the framework, as well as any suggestions for possible changes," Cr Meddows-Taylor said.
Comments regarding the draft must be submitted before Friday, 11 July 2008. Community members can email their submissions to Miriam Smith at miriams@cgoldshire.vic.gov.au or by phoning 5461 0626. Written submissions can also be addressed to:
