Events for 2009 Seniors' Festival

Central Goldfields Shire Council is currently compiling a program of events for the 2009 Seniors' Festival and is calling on community groups to contribute event details for inclusion in the program.

The Seniors Festival runs from Sunday, 4 October 2009 until Sunday, 11 October 2009 and will be a week of exciting and entertaining activities across the shire. Council is interested to hear about any suitable events being held during this time so that it can be advertised in the program.

Community Services Officer at Central Goldfields Shire Council Sandra Wright said the Seniors' Festival has always been a success in the shire.

"Our community holds some fantastic events over the course of the week and at Council we want to ensure that each event is widely publicised.

"Publicising events in the 2009 Central Goldfields Seniors' Festival Program is one of the easiest ways to inform our seniors of what's on locally so I strongly encourage community groups to contact Council," Ms Wright said.

Groups wishing to add an item to the program need to obtain an Event Details Form from Council. This can be done by contacting Martin Mark on 5461 0621 or by collecting a form directly from Council reception at 12-22 Nolan Street, Maryborough.

Event Details Forms need to be completed and returned to Council by Friday, 31 July 2009. The forms can be dropped back to Council reception or posted to:
